VALORANT adds Miks as a sound-powered Controller

VALORANT Miks abilities combine ally Combat Stim, healing or concussive pulses, map-targeted smokes and a sound-wave ultimate in the Controller role today.

VALORANT added Miks, a Croatian Controller who uses sound-based utility, during Patch 12.05 on March 18, 2026. His kit combines map-targeted smokes with direct ally support, area healing or concussive pressure and an ultimate that disrupts players in front of him.

Miks entered a role normally defined by sightline denial, but two abilities ask him to coordinate closely with a teammate rather than operate only through a tactical map.

VALORANT Miks abilities reward paired timing

Harmonize targets an ally and grants Combat Stim to both Miks and that player; alternate fire applies the effect only to Miks. A kill refreshes the stim, making the ability strongest when the pair agrees on the same contact instead of taking separate fights.

M-pulse toggles between concussive and healing output before Miks throws the device. The choice must be made around team state: healing stabilizes a damaged group, while concussive pressure can delay a push or support an entry.

Waveform and Bassquake define the Controller layer

Waveform uses a map targeter to set smoke locations. Bassquake builds and releases Sonic Radiance forward, knocking back, deafening and slowing affected players. The ultimate is a displacement tool, not automatic damage, so its value depends on teammates being ready to exploit the disrupted position.

Later patches fixed several Miks interface and visual issues, so players should judge the current client rather than launch footage alone. Our Haven retake guide offers a team structure for Controller utility, while our Patch 13.02 report covers the current live update.

Riot lists the complete launch kit in the official Patch 12.05 notes.
