VALORANT Patch 13.02 expanded the Retake pool on July 28, 2026, adding Split, Corrode and Lotus. Riot also delayed the planned AROS rotation from Retake to Replication after identifying a technical problem.

The update is not a broad balance reset. Its practical value lies in more varied post-plant practice and a long list of interaction fixes for agents and maps.

Three maps change the Retake practice loop

Retake compresses a round into the final objective: attackers defend a planted spike while defenders coordinate an entry. Split rewards vertical clearing and disciplined heaven control; Lotus adds rotating-door and three-site decisions; Corrode asks teams to respect long lanes and layered utility.

Players should treat the mode as repetition for spacing, not as a complete substitute for full matches. Economy, early information and the decisions that create a post-plant are missing. Our Corrode attack guide covers the setup that comes before the retake.

Replication waits while bug fixes ship

Riot said Replication would not enter the AROS rotation as scheduled because of a technical issue. No replacement date was promised in the notes, so players should rely on the live client rather than assume a later switch.

Patch 13.02 also fixes utility interactions involving Omen, KAY/O, Cypher, Gekko, Reyna, Chamber and other agents. A Summit door issue that allowed some utility to pass through was corrected as well. These are narrow changes, but competitive teams should retest rehearsed setups after any collision or targeting fix.

For the wider Act 4 context, read our report on the Patch 13.00 Sentinel changes. Riot’s official notes remain the source of record.

The practical effect is clearer build comparison during live matches.
