LoL wave review: diagnose the decision before the freeze

The frozen wave is evidence; the cause usually happened one or two waves earlier.

Rewind before the freeze to find the decision that created it.

Start at the wave that becomes unplayable, then rewind ninety seconds. Record health, mana, recall options, jungle information and which player could touch the wave without losing a trade.

Identify the first forced action

Find the moment a player had to clear, recall or concede space. Ask what information made that action reasonable. Do not judge with knowledge revealed later.

Simulate one alternative

Change only one choice: trim two minions, hold an ability, recall earlier or request jungle cover. Follow the next two waves to see whether the alternative creates a better map state rather than a prettier single wave.

Write the lane cue

Convert the finding into a conditional call: “If their jungler shows top, break on this cannon wave.”

Reviewing cause before appearance prevents players from treating every freeze as a mechanical error. Wave control is a chain of decisions linked to the wider map.
