Valorant reveals its new map in a Masters London showmatch

The Valorant new map reveal at Masters London paired its first public look with a showmatch before the June 21 grand final. Creators and professional players tested the arena ahead of its playable release in patch 13.00.

Riot placed the map in a radiant training academy located in the mountain valley connected to Sage’s early story. The reveal therefore introduced both competitive geometry and a new piece of the game’s setting.

Megsoundslikeegg captained Team Chaos and Ailincia led Team Calm. Their all-star squads gave viewers an immediate look at rotations, entry paths and site retakes instead of limiting the debut to a cinematic trailer.

A showmatch is useful evidence, but it is not a solved metagame. Players have limited preparation time, and entertainment rosters do not approach utility combinations with the depth of a practiced VCT team.

The setting draws on locations in China, which several showmatch participants visited as part of the reveal project. Riot used the contrast between Chaos and Calm as the presentation theme surrounding the two captains.

Patch 13.00 starts the real learning process

The map’s competitive identity becomes clearer only after the wider player base can test it. Early professional defaults, defensive setups and agent choices can change quickly once teams discover reliable utility lineups.
