Among Us adds the Judge Crewmate role

The Among Us Judge role is live in update v18.0.0, giving a Crewmate one chance to overrule an Emergency Meeting vote. The ability can eject a chosen player even when the rest of the lobby votes differently or skips.

Among Us: confirmed details

Overrule unlocks after the Judge completes a configurable number of tasks and can be used once per game. If the target is not an Impostor, the Judge is ejected instead. When multiple Judges activate at once, the first use resolves and the others receive their ability back for a later meeting.

What changes for players

The role turns private certainty into a public, irreversible wager. A correct call can bypass a divided lobby, but a mistake removes a Crewmate and leaves the suspected player alive. Requiring tasks delays the power and gives the lobby a visible reason to question whether a claimed Judge could actually be ready.

Timing and wider context

Version 18.0.0 also adds a Match Info Guide for players, roles and settings. The Detective’s Interrogate ability now receives a cooldown after Emergency Meetings. Hosts can adjust the Judge task requirement in Role Settings, so its tempo will vary between lobbies.
