Dead by Daylight previews Player Intent chat wheel
Dead by Daylight previews Player Intent chat wheel. Behaviour plans a preset Survivor message wheel for fall, with cooldowns, customization, muting and a full.
The Dead by Daylight Player Intent system is planned for release this fall. It gives Survivors a wheel of preset messages that can appear beside a player name on the HUD, offering limited coordination without open voice chat.
Dead by Daylight: confirmed details
Behaviour says players will be able to customize the available messages. Repeated use triggers an increasing cooldown designed to limit spam. The entire system can be disabled, and individual players can be muted without turning off every message in the trial.
What changes for players
Preset intent cannot replace detailed voice communication, but it can answer recurring solo-queue questions: whether a teammate is going for a rescue, working on a generator or needs help. Displaying the message beside the player name connects the statement to an exact Survivor, while opt-out and mute controls reduce the cost of unwanted use.
Timing and wider context
This is a developer preview, not a feature currently guaranteed in every live match. Behaviour placed the launch in fall without giving a final date in the announcement. Wording, cooldown values and the exact set of messages can still change before release.
The feature list and timing above reflect the developer’s announcement published on August 14, 2026. Future hotfixes can adjust balance or availability, so live values should be checked against the current client.
