Sentinels defeated Gen.G 3-2 on March 24 to win VALORANT Masters Madrid 2024. The best-of-five completed a lower-bracket recovery and gave Sentinels the season’s first international trophy.

A rematch with a different ending

Gen.G had beaten Sentinels in the upper final, which made the championship series a test of adaptation rather than unfamiliarity. Sentinels arrived after defeating Paper Rex and had to solve a team that already understood their preferred rhythms.

The final moved through contrasting maps and survived to a fifth. Sentinels managed the pressure better in the deciding stage, turning disciplined trades and defensive patience into the rounds required to close the event.

Madrid restored Sentinels to the international summit

The title carried historical weight for the organization after its Masters Reykjavík victory in 2021. For Gen.G, the runner-up finish was still a major international breakthrough and evidence that Pacific’s representative could contend through a full global bracket.

The most useful competitive lesson is not to copy one composition. Sentinels showed the value of reviewing a recent loss quickly, protecting mental energy through the lower bracket and entering a rematch with specific answers.

Teams can translate that idea into practice with our VALORANT attack-default guide and the current Patch 13.00 balance report.

Result: Sentinels 3-2 Gen.G. Sources: VLR event record and Riot Games.

Dmitri reviews games by tracing their complete loop: how a system is introduced, how it changes under pressure and whether it still produces interesting decisions after the novelty fades. He has a particular interest in RPG economies, tactical combat and performance problems that alter mechanical feel. Every verdict is written for a specific player rather than an imaginary universal audience.
