Falcons sweep G2 3–0 to win PGL Bucharest 2025
Falcons swept G2 3–0 in the PGL Bucharest 2025 final, winning Dust2, Nuke and Ancient to secure the organization’s first major CS2 LAN tournament trophy.
Falcons defeated G2 Esports 3–0 on April 13, 2025 to win PGL Bucharest. The team took Mirage 13–5, Nuke 13–7 and Ancient 13–8, securing the organization’s first Counter-Strike LAN trophy.
The sweep was especially striking because Falcons had started the tournament with losses to Complexity and GamerLegion. Their recovery turned an 0–2 opening into seven consecutive match wins.
The Falcons PGL Bucharest 2025 win controlled every map
Mirage set the tone when Falcons repeatedly recovered from early disadvantages and prevented G2 from building a stable economy. Abdul “degster” Gasanov supplied the sharpest individual performance on the opener, while the team consistently converted the space created by his first contacts.
Nuke offered G2 a better start, but Falcons found gaps in the defence and closed the map with six consecutive rounds. Ancient followed the same broader pattern: G2 could create an early contest, yet Falcons were stronger once the gun rounds settled.
HLTV’s match report records the full scoreline and notes that the event was expected to be the roster’s final appearance before another change. That context made the trophy both a breakthrough and an ending.
Recovery from 0–2 defined the tournament more than the sweep
A final can make a campaign look inevitable after the fact. Bucharest was not. Falcons had to rebuild their map approach after two opening losses and then survive series against paiN, The MongolZ, GamerLegion and FaZe before reaching G2.
The turnaround shows why tournament form cannot be reduced to one day. Adjustments between matches, confidence inside force-buy rounds and a map veto that reflects current play can change the shape of an event.
G2’s final was disappointing, but reaching it after beating Virtus.pro and Complexity still provided useful information about the roster’s ceiling. Falcons simply denied them the time and economy needed to display it in the title match.
