Every Step Counts entered Early Access on Steam on August 23 with four math-based minigames. Solo developer nipanko designed the collection around logic, calculation speed and trackable improvement, aiming for short play loops that exercise arithmetic without presenting themselves as classroom worksheets.
Every Step Counts: confirmed launch details
Ouroboros asks players to guide a short-sighted snake across a grid by choosing addition, subtraction, multiplication or division operations. Riskier calculations provide better scores. Brainy Cashier increases the pace by requiring correct totals and exact change while a customer line continues moving.
What the design asks from players
The modes test different kinds of numerical confidence. Ouroboros rewards looking several moves ahead, while the cashier challenge values accurate mental calculation under pressure. Keeping these tasks separate allows players to identify whether mistakes come from arithmetic itself, route planning or the speed of a decision.
Platform and release context
Every Step Counts is a Windows single-player Early Access release from nipanko and Tried Indie. The current four games are playable now, while more modes are planned. Future additions should not be counted as existing content until they arrive in a public build.
The feature list reflects the developer’s official Steam information published for the August 23, 2026 release. Post-launch patches can change balance, compatibility or content, so the live store page and current build remain the final references.
