Enginehero sends nine heroes down branching rails

Enginehero launched on Steam on August 21 as a train-based bullet hell and bullet heaven hybrid. MelonCow places a selectable team of nine heroes aboard the last rescue train, then lets players jump between rails to choose routes while fighting robots that have taken control of the world’s children.

Every hero brings a different weapon, attack pattern and play style. Experience raises character levels, while coins buy weapons, magic and train modifications at stops such as the Railyard, Magic Library, Blacksmith and Mechanic. Runs include more than 20 enemy types and seven bosses across branching paths.

What the design asks from players

Team composition determines which projectiles and attack angles cover the moving train, but route selection decides whether that team reaches the upgrades it needs. A safer rail may preserve health while missing a crucial shop. Nine heroes also invite synergy experiments instead of making one character carry every offensive role.

Platform and release context

Enginehero supports Windows and Linux as a single-player release with partial controller support and a gamepad recommendation. Steam does not label it Early Access. The developer describes each run as unique, but the confirmed content figures are nine heroes, more than 20 enemy types and seven distinct bosses.
