The Tactical Breach Wizards launch brought Suspicious Developments’ story-driven tactics game to Steam on August 22, 2024. The PC release combines small turn-based arenas, character-specific magic and a rewind tool that lets players test a plan before committing to its consequences.
Tactical Breach Wizards launch: confirmed details
Players lead a team of renegade spellcasters wearing modern tactical gear through a conspiracy campaign. Every wizard has a distinct role: abilities can move allies, shove enemies, manipulate space or exploit environmental hazards. The official Steam announcement described a roughly 15-hour single-player campaign at launch, while the store page also lists achievements, Steam Workshop support and a level editor.
What changed for players
The rewind system changes the usual cost of experimentation. A player can resolve movement, attacks and knockback, inspect the projected result, then step backward when the order fails. Optional confidence objectives and ability perks reward cleaner solutions, but the difficulty settings can be adjusted individually. That structure makes the game approachable without removing the puzzle of combining a squad’s tools.
Availability and lasting context
Suspicious Developments previously created Gunpoint and Heat Signature. Tactical Breach Wizards continued the studio’s interest in readable systemic problems, but placed those ideas inside authored missions and frequent character dialogue. The release was limited to PC on its original date; later platform announcements, patches and discounts should be checked separately rather than folded into the launch record.
This report separates features released on the stated date from later patches and community expectations. Balance values and platform support can change, but the documented release history remains the same.
