Destiny 2 Monument of Triumph ends planned content updates
Destiny 2 Monument of Triumph delivers the final major update with the restored Director, rewards, catalysts, Sparrow Racing and system changes. Read the.
Bungie released Destiny 2: Monument of Triumph and update 9.7.0 on June 9, 2026. Bungie described it as the game’s final major patch and the end of planned live-service content updates, while stating that Destiny 2 would remain playable.
Destiny 2 Monument of Triumph: what changed
The update returned the Director to the centre of destination navigation, revised activity difficulty and rewards, expanded vault and loadout capacity, added weapon tier upgrading and introduced twenty-five new Exotic catalysts or catalyst perks. Sparrow Racing League returned, destinations received new loot and the Tower gained the Monument with Triumphs that award Legendary Marks.
How it affects the game
The update functions as both consolidation and farewell. Returning systems make older destinations easier to browse, while catalyst and reward changes give established collections new work. Free ornaments, accessories and weapon engrams turn completed Triumphs into a visible record of a player’s history rather than asking everyone to begin one more temporary season.
What players should know
Bungie said smaller maintenance patches or hotfixes could still be released for stability even though planned content development ended. Monument of Triumph remains available indefinitely and is open to all players, but individual activities and rewards retain their own access or completion requirements. Ending planned updates does not mean the servers closed on release day.
This report describes the confirmed release at the stated date. Live games may change through hotfixes, rotations and later seasons, so a launch feature should not be treated as permanently unchanged.
