Fortnite Galactic Battle launched on May 2, 2025 as Chapter 6 Season 3, a shorter Battle Royale season built entirely around Star Wars. Epic Games divided the rollout into weekly themes before concluding it with the Death Star Sabotage live event on June 7.

Fortnite Galactic Battle: what changed

The season brought lightsabers and Force abilities back into the loot pool, added First Order and Imperial locations, and let players use X-wings and TIE fighters. Weekly updates moved through Imperial Takeover, The Pull of the Force, Mandalorian Rising and Star Destroyer Bombardment. The Battle Pass included characters such as Poe Dameron, General Grievous and an Emperor Palpatine outfit earned through later progression.

Why it matters

A full themed season allowed mechanics, locations and quests to reinforce one another instead of treating the crossover as a shop rotation. Air combat changed how squads approached open ground, while lightsabers created close-range pressure and defensive options that normal weapon tiers do not reproduce. The compressed schedule also meant each weekly phase had limited time to dominate the map.

What players should know

Galactic Battle was a dated seasonal event, not permanent proof that every listed item remains in Battle Royale. Players revisiting its content should distinguish archived cosmetics from vaulted gameplay mechanics. Purchased outfits remain account cosmetics, while live-event access and seasonal quests ended with the scheduled season.

The information above describes the confirmed release at the stated date. Live games can change through hotfixes, later seasons and platform-specific updates, so returning players should check the current build before treating an older detail as permanent.

Her criticism looks at first-person readability, animation language, material separation and the way sound changes a cosmetic through repetition. She also reports on the production process behind collections and the community culture that grows around them.
