Monster Hunter Wilds TU2 Adds Lagiacrus and Seregios
Monster Hunter Wilds Free Title Update 2 adds Lagiacrus, Seregios, layered weapons and new high-rank challenges in the Forbidden Lands. Read the verified.
Monster Hunter Wilds Free Title Update 2 launched on June 30, 2025 with two returning monsters at its centre. Lagiacrus brought the Leviathan back to the series’ current hunting grounds, while Seregios added a fast flying-wyvern matchup built around sharp scales and pressure.
What changed
Capcom paired the monsters with their related equipment and made eight-star tempered versions available after their initial missions for hunters at Hunter Rank 41 or higher. The update also introduced layered weapons, allowing the appearance of a weapon to be changed separately from its performance. Additional event content and system adjustments rounded out the release.
Why the update matters
Two monsters create more than two quests because their materials expand crafting goals and their attack patterns test different defensive habits. Lagiacrus changes spatial awareness around its body and electrical attacks; Seregios punishes passive movement with quick repositioning and scale pressure. Layered weapons address a different part of the loop by separating visual preference from build efficiency.
What players should check next
Returning hunters should complete the required missions before searching for tempered versions and should read the current patch notes for later balance changes. Layered appearance options do not alter damage values, so equipment comparisons still need to use the underlying weapon and skills. Event availability can also follow a separate schedule from permanent monster content.
The confirmed notes describe the shipped feature set, not a promise about the long-term metagame. Players should verify the current client version before applying old lineups, build advice or matchmaking assumptions. Later hotfixes can change balance without changing the original purpose of the update.
