G2 defeated Vitality 3-2 in the BLAST Open London 2025 grand final, earning their first tournament title of the year. HeavyGod received the event MVP award after a decisive playoff run.

Five maps tested both teams’ depth

The series did not settle into a single pattern. Each side found stretches of control, forcing the opponent to reset its economy and adjust between maps. G2’s ability to recover after lost momentum was as important as any isolated highlight.

Vitality arrived with the reputation of the era’s most consistent winner, so beating them over a best-of-five carried more weight than a short upset. G2 had to produce enough defensive solutions and late-round patience to survive the complete series.

HeavyGod turns consistency into an MVP

HeavyGod’s award recognized impact across the tournament, not only the final. His positioning gave G2 dependable round value while the team’s stars shared the burden of opening fights.

The title did not erase every question around G2, but it supplied evidence that the roster could close a premier event under pressure. Vitality’s loss likewise did not undo their season; it showed that a prepared challenger could extend the match and punish small errors.
