The WARDOGS closed beta is running as a public-shareable test weekend after the developer lifted its nondisclosure agreement. The first wave of invites has been sent, and selected players can preload the separate WARDOGS Playtest application before their access window begins.

WARDOGS closed beta: confirmed details

Pre-orders include guaranteed beta access, and the volume of those players means the developer is initially being cautious with additional invitations from the general sign-up pool. More applicants may be added later as the team measures server scaling and stability. Participants are explicitly allowed to publish clips, streams and impressions during this test.

What changes for players

Lifting the NDA gives prospective players direct footage from ordinary test machines rather than only curated trailers. Limited waves are still normal capacity management, not proof that every applicant was rejected. Invite holders should install the Playtest entry shown in their Steam library instead of expecting the retail app to unlock automatically.

Timing and wider context

A closed beta is a temporary development build and can contain incomplete balance, performance problems and placeholder presentation. Pre-order access guarantees participation under the published terms but does not make progress permanent. Exact session times should be read from the official schedule graphic and current Steam notice in the player’s region.

The feature list and timing above reflect the developer’s announcement published on August 20, 2026. Future hotfixes can adjust balance or availability, so live values should be checked against the current client.

For WARDOGS, the practical checkpoint is the live client: confirm the installed version, platform notes and regional rollout before relying on a scheduled feature. Store availability, maintenance windows and certification can create timing differences even when the developer announces one date for the wider release.
