ROCKET SCIENCE entered Early Access on Steam on August 21 as a VR-only arena sport built around free flight, rockets and a physics-driven ball. Macrobot Software supports solo matches against AI and online multiplayer, asking teams to score goals while using the same ammunition for offense, defense and ball control.

ROCKET SCIENCE: confirmed launch details

Players can chase the ball through futuristic arenas, intercept attacks and fire rockets to redirect a developing play. Special pickups add magnet rockets that pull the ball toward the opposing goal, tornado rockets with increased damage and movement powers for rapid repositioning. Blasting an opponent also contributes points, so shooting is not limited to passing.

What the design asks from players

The interesting constraint is ammunition management. A rocket spent disrupting an opponent cannot immediately rescue the goal or create a shot, which makes positioning matter even in a fast arcade format. Team coordination should be more valuable than simply following the ball, especially when a power pickup can reverse possession in seconds.

Platform and release context

The Windows release requires VR hardware and tracked controls; it is not a conventional flatscreen sports game. Early Access also means modes, balance and comfort settings may change. Prospective players should confirm headset compatibility and regional multiplayer activity on the live listing before treating the current feature set as final.

The feature list reflects the developer’s official Steam information available on August 21, 2026. Post-launch patches can change balance, compatibility or content, so the live store page and current build remain the final references.
