American Truck Simulator will include Mount Rushmore and nearby Keystone in its upcoming South Dakota map expansion. SCS Software’s August 18 preview shows how drivers will approach the monument from roads through the Black Hills instead of treating it as a distant menu landmark.

American Truck Simulator: confirmed details

The recreation includes the carved faces of George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt and Abraham Lincoln. Keystone appears as a small gateway town with a Western-style centre, and the surrounding area references the 1880 Train, a steam excursion railway connecting Keystone with Hill City.

What changes for players

Recognizable landmarks help a map expansion vary its delivery routes with tourism-focused scenery and tighter mountain roads. Keystone can provide a visual and navigational break from interstate hauling, while the Black Hills setting gives the South Dakota DLC a different rhythm from the state’s open plains.

Timing and wider context

SCS Software labels the images and locations as work in progress and has not attached a final release date to this preview. Road layout, scenery density and accessible depots can still change before the South Dakota expansion ships.

The feature list and timing above reflect the developer’s announcement published on August 18, 2026. Future hotfixes can adjust balance or availability, so live values should be checked against the current client.

For American Truck Simulator, the practical checkpoint is the live client: confirm the installed version, platform notes and regional rollout before relying on a scheduled feature. Store availability, maintenance windows and certification can create timing differences even when the developer announces one date for the wider release.
