The War Sails modding competition runs from August 14 through November 22 with more than EUR30,000 in prizes. TaleWorlds is organizing the event with Nexus Mods and ModDB across three distinct creation categories.

War Sails: confirmed details

The Conversion Mod Contest covers total or partial conversions using naval travel and battles. The 3D Art Contest asks entrants to build ships from any era or imagined culture. Scene Design focuses on Seaborne Village Raid locations that stage a coastal assault. Community voting follows in late November, with winners planned for January.

What changes for players

Separate tracks give programmers, 3D artists and level designers a credible route into the same event. Open-sourcing submitted vessels and raid scenes can extend the value beyond the winning entries, although creators should read the complete licensing terms before submitting work.

Timing and wider context

The deadline and prize pool come from the official announcement, while category-specific rules live on the competition page. TaleWorlds also scheduled an introductory Modding Discord stream. Judging and community voting occur after submissions close. Entries also need the required War Sails content and must follow the submission rules on each host platform.

The feature list and timing above reflect the developer’s announcement published on August 14, 2026. Future hotfixes can adjust balance or availability, so live values should be checked against the current client.
