Square Enix released Final Fantasy XIV patch 7.3, The Promise of Tomorrow, on August 5, 2025. Its main scenario quests bring the Dawntrail arc to a conclusion while the wider patch series adds high-level duties, social features and continuing side content.

Final Fantasy XIV patch 7.3: confirmed details

The release includes the Meso Terminal dungeon, a new trial in normal and extreme forms, Vault Oneiron treasure dungeon and San d’Oria: The Second Walk, the second Echoes of Vana’diel alliance raid. It also introduces the Bayside Battleground for Crystalline Conflict, chat bubbles and additional Group Pose options. Later 7.31 and 7.35 features were listed separately rather than presented as day-one content.

What changes for players

Story-focused players receive the ending to Alexandria’s post-launch conflict, while raiders gain another 24-player encounter and trial. Chat bubbles are a smaller mechanical change but a visible social one, especially in role-play spaces and crowded hubs. The PvP arena adds a new geometry problem instead of merely resetting ranks.

Availability and lasting context

Patch 7.3 requires the appropriate registered expansions for its level 100 content. Cosmic Exploration on Phaenna and Phantom Weapon quests followed in 7.31, while Pilgrim’s Traverse and Yok Huy society quests belonged to 7.35. That schedule matters when comparing the launch notes with the completed patch cycle.

This report records the release state at publication. Later patches can alter balance, access or individual systems without changing the documented launch history. Announced features, paid additions and community expectations are kept separate from content that was actually released.
