The LCS Summer Split 2026 is underway, with a seven-week best-of-three regular season leading into September playoffs and the LCS Championship in Atlanta on October 3–4. The top six teams reach the playoffs, and the final top three qualify for the 2026 League of Legends World Championship.

Week three is scheduled for August 8–9 at the Face Off Studio. From there, the league plays every weekend through September 5–6 before moving into three weeks of playoffs.

The LCS Summer Split 2026 rewards series adaptation

Riot Games confirmed a best-of-three round robin for the regular season in its official LCS Summer primer. A series format gives teams room to adjust drafts and side selection instead of treating every matchup as one isolated game.

That changes what a successful week looks like. Teams need an opening plan, but they also need a second draft when the first reveals too much. A flex pick is valuable when it delays reliable information; it becomes less useful when the opponent has already seen where the champion fits. Our analysis of LoL flex picks breaks down that information trade.

The regular season sends six teams to the playoffs. Riot describes the postseason as an expanded lower-bracket gauntlet, so a high seed provides a cleaner route while lower finishers must survive more elimination series.

The remaining LCS Summer schedule

  • Week 3: August 8–9
  • Week 4: August 15–16
  • Week 5: August 22–23
  • Week 6: August 29–30
  • Week 7: September 5–6
  • Playoffs: September 12–27
  • LCS Championship: October 3–4

The October final will be held at Gas South Arena outside Atlanta, Georgia. Riot’s ticket announcement confirms that the event covers two days and that single-day tickets are scheduled to enter the second sales wave on August 22.

The championship decides more than the domestic trophy. The top three LCS teams qualify for Worlds 2026, which returns to North America. That turns every playoff route into a qualification race: a team does not need to win the league to reach Worlds, but it must finish inside the final three.

What to track before the playoffs

Objective preparation should be one of the clearest indicators of form. In a best-of-three, repeated late arrivals are harder to dismiss as a one-game mistake. Our guide to LoL objective setup starts the sequence 90 seconds before the fight, when teams still have time to repair waves and vision.

Side-lane assignments also become more revealing as opponents collect more footage. A team that always sends the same role to the same lane gives away its next rotation. The alternatives in our side-lane assignment guide show how teams can distribute pressure without abandoning the next objective.

The next LCS weekend begins August 8. Standings matter, but the more useful question is whether teams are solving the same draft and map problems faster from game to game.
