Ashes of Kardoria launched on Steam on August 22 as a dark, choice-driven RPG set on an island collapsing under plague, hunger and an expanding orc threat. Its campaign is advertised at more than 16 hours and leads toward multiple endings rather than one heroic resolution.

Ashes of Kardoria: confirmed launch features

Players eventually side with the Guards or Hunters. That allegiance changes the progression path, training and available gear. Combat supports one-handed weapons, two-handed weapons, a weapon with shield or a bow, while alchemy provides potions and preparations for dangerous areas and unique bosses.

How the central mechanic works

Faction selection is more than a dialogue flag because it controls practical character development. The store page emphasizes consequences and rejects simple good answers, so equipment access and training reinforce the political cost of choosing which group receives support during a worsening crisis.

Release and platform context

Ashes of Kardoria is a Windows single-player release intended for adult audiences. It is not marked as Early Access and does not list multiplayer or Steam achievements. The developer and publisher use the same Ashes of Kardoria name on the official store page.
