Tanks: Total Destruction launched on Steam on August 21 with 25 top-down battlefields and an intentionally strict control scheme. 2DevStudio limits tanks to four movement directions and makes each vehicle fire where it faces, translating a familiar arcade rule set into an Unreal Engine 5 presentation.

Tanks: Total Destruction: confirmed launch details

Solo mode sends one player against enemy waves, two-player cooperative play works on one keyboard, and local PvP supports as many as four participants on one screen. Buildings take three shots to destroy. Water blocks movement but not projectiles, allowing players to fire across a barrier they cannot simply cross.

What the design asks from players

Those simple terrain rules create readable tactical choices. Destroying a building opens movement but also removes cover, while water can protect a firing lane without stopping incoming shots. Fixed-direction aiming makes every turn a commitment, so a fast reaction still needs the correct approach angle.

Platform and release context

The Windows release is built for single-screen play and does not list online multiplayer. Keyboard-only support and untimed accessibility options are available alongside the local modes. Players planning a couch session should verify their preferred input arrangement because two-person cooperation is specifically designed to share one keyboard.

The feature list reflects the developer’s official Steam information available on August 21, 2026. Post-launch patches can change balance, compatibility or content, so the live store page and current build remain the final references.
