The Slay the Spire 2 roadmap is shifting away from a strict biweekly beta rhythm so Mega Crit can spend longer on substantial features. The studio says new content will take at least a month to reach the beta branch, and there will be no August 27 patch.

Slay the Spire 2: confirmed details

Work in progress includes experimental game modes, an alternate Act 2 and a new character. Already delivered roadmap pieces include Steam Workshop support, initial Bestiary scaffolding, the Badge and Score system, Traditional Chinese and Indonesian localization, plus additional cards and relics. Mega Crit has not promised a fixed replacement cadence.

What changes for players

Longer gaps can make individual beta updates more meaningful, but they also reduce the predictability Early Access players had built around every other week. An alternate act and another character require interconnected cards, relics, encounters and balance passes, so shipping them piecemeal could create more temporary gaps than value.

Timing and wider context

The studio describes all three major features as active work, not finished content. Steam Achievements remain targeted for version 1.0 according to the same Q&A. Dates can move, and the August team break is separate from the longer-term cadence decision.

The feature list and timing above reflect the developer’s announcement published on August 14, 2026. Future hotfixes can adjust balance or availability, so live values should be checked against the current client.
