Patch 26.15 gave Maokai and Volibear targeted access buffs.

League of Legends Patch 26.15 gave Maokai and Volibear focused improvements aimed at reaching plays sooner. Maokai received more help against jungle monsters, while Volibear’s Q became available faster in the early ranks.

What changed

Maokai’s Q received stronger monster-facing numbers to improve his clear without applying the full benefit to lane opponents. Volibear’s Q cooldown moved from 14/13/12/11/10 seconds to 12/11.5/11/10.5/10. The largest reduction therefore appears at rank one and narrows until the ability reaches the same ten-second endpoint.

Why it matters

Clear speed determines whether a jungler arrives to a river contest with time and health to act. Maokai’s adjustment supports that schedule while preserving counterplay in lane. Volibear’s early Q reduction improves the frequency of his engage and stun threat, but opponents can still deny the run with spacing, crowd control and vision.

What players should watch

For Maokai, compare first-clear health and arrival time rather than raw damage in a practice dummy test. Volibear players should avoid treating the shorter Q cooldown as permission to force every approach; the value comes from threatening a second use in extended situations. Opponents should update their cooldown tracking most carefully at rank one.

The practical test begins in live matches. Players should read the current client notes before queueing, separate confirmed values from community predictions and expect later balance updates to respond to real match data.
