LoL 26.13 brings back Ranked 5s and adds DM reports

League of Legends Patch 26.13 brought Ranked 5s back on June 26, 2026. The limited-run queue uses Tournament Draft, allows teams without normal rank restrictions and offers higher stakes for coordinated five-player groups.

Riot also added reporting and blocking tools to direct messages, closing a moderation gap that previously let abusive players move conversations away from post-game reporting surfaces.

LoL 26.13 Ranked 5s tests a team-first ladder

Ranked 5s opens in scheduled windows rather than running continuously. Concentrating teams into the same periods is intended to improve the matchmaking pool and reduce the chance that a prepared roster waits indefinitely for a comparable opponent.

Tournament Draft gives each side a structured pick-and-ban phase closer to organized competition. The queue therefore tests more than individual lane performance: teams must prepare champion priorities, communicate role swaps and keep enough viable choices after bans.

The absence of normal rank restrictions makes it easier for established friend groups to enter together, but it does not erase matchmaking. Riot still evaluates the team as a competitive unit. Groups can prepare the objective side of that test with our LoL dragon vision setup guide.

Direct-message reports preserve both sides of the exchange

The new chat tools let a player report or block from the conversation header and context menu. Riot says message history remains available during the session after a block, preventing someone from using the block action to erase the context of a report.

A report gives moderators access to both sides of the submitted conversation. That is important for accuracy and also a reason to avoid retaliatory abuse: the complete exchange, not a selectively cropped line, can be evaluated.

Patch 26.13 additionally introduced Locke, adjusted several champions and confirmed Broken Covenant Jhin as the MSI revenue-share skin. Riot’s official notes contain the full balance list.

For regular ranked players, the immediate choice is straightforward: assemble a stable five if the scheduled queue fits, or keep using solo and flex without treating Ranked 5s as a replacement. Our report on Patch 26.15 item changes covers the later live balance context.
