The VALORANT Champions 2025 Vandal turned match performance into the centre of its visual design. Released with the collection on September 4, 2025, the rifle used Champion’s Aura to move from red toward gold when its owner was the top fragger.

Champion’s Aura gives status a readable gradient

The effect works because the base rifle remains recognizable. Gold is concentrated as a reward state instead of covering every surface from the first round. Teammates and spectators can understand the change without opening a menu.

Hot Streak turns kills into short-term momentum

Riot described a Hot Streak feature that makes the weapon glow gold after kills. This creates a smaller feedback loop inside the larger aura condition. The player receives an immediate visual response while the match-level state remains connected to scoreboard performance.

Effects of this kind must avoid obscuring weapon and enemy readability. The strongest implementation keeps the glow near the gun and hands rather than filling the centre of the screen.

Inspect, VFX and sound build ceremony

The Vandal received a new inspect sequence alongside custom visual and audio effects. Event skins often justify their identity through ceremony: the weapon is not merely recoloured but presented as a trophy carried through ordinary rounds.

Riot stated that 50% of net proceeds from the Champions 2025 Collection would be shared with VCT teams. The same announcement said 2024 esports bundles had raised more than $40 million for teams.
