PengPong launches hockey-stick bullet hell

PengPong launches hockey-stick bullet hell. The action roguelite turns weapons into ricocheting projectiles and arrives after a demo drew more than 30,000.

PengPong has launched with an action roguelite system that asks players to bat weapons into monster hordes with a hockey stick. The result mixes bullet-hell pressure, pinball-like rebounds and run-based upgrades, making positioning and the angle of each return central to survival.

PengPong: confirmed details

The developer says the pre-release demo attracted more than 30,000 players and the game passed 25,000 wishlists. Feedback from that period led to revisions across combat, stages, bosses, weapons, visual clarity and controls. Xbox controllers, Steam Controller and Steam Deck input are supported, although Deck verification is not claimed.

What changes for players

The unusual attack method changes how players read incoming threats: a weapon can be both damage source and moving object that must be recovered or redirected. Controller support suits the arcade structure, but portable players should distinguish functional input from an official Steam Deck Verified rating.

Timing and wider context

The current launch reflects several rounds of public demo feedback rather than an untouched first build. The official notice does not provide a long-term content roadmap, so the confirmed package is the released roguelite and its revised systems. Further balance patches may still change the strongest combinations.

The feature list and timing above reflect the developer’s announcement published on August 20, 2026. Future hotfixes can adjust balance or availability, so live values should be checked against the current client.

For PengPong, the practical checkpoint is the live client: confirm the installed version, platform notes and regional rollout before relying on a scheduled feature. Store availability, maintenance windows and certification can create timing differences even when the developer announces one date for the wider release.
