Monster Hunter Wilds 1.042.00.02: confirmed details

Capcom recommends NVIDIA GeForce driver 581.57 or newer and AMD Radeon 25.9.1 or newer for stability. The publisher separately warns that AMD driver versions 25.10.2 and later have known issues on certain Radeon systems, naming the RX 5500 XT and RX 7800 XT as examples.

What changes for players

A hotfix can address game-side regressions, but driver choice remains part of the troubleshooting baseline on PC. Players should record the game version, driver number and hardware before comparing results. Updating blindly to the numerically newest AMD package may not be the safest option while the identified incompatibility remains.

Timing and wider context

The notice says driver guidance can change with vendor support. It does not promise one performance result for every configuration. Console players still need the game update for online access, but the specific driver recommendations apply to PC.

The feature list and timing above reflect the developer’s announcement published on August 14, 2026. Future hotfixes can adjust balance or availability, so live values should be checked against the current client.

Dmitri reviews games by tracing their complete loop: how a system is introduced, how it changes under pressure and whether it still produces interesting decisions after the novelty fades. He has a particular interest in RPG economies, tactical combat and performance problems that alter mechanical feel. Every verdict is written for a specific player rather than an imaginary universal audience.
