FunPlus Phoenix sweep G2 to win Worlds 2019

FunPlus Phoenix defeated G2 Esports 3–0 on November 10, 2019 to win the League of Legends World Championship in Paris. The LPL champion controlled all three games and denied G2 the final trophy in its attempted season grand slam.

FPX won Group B after a tiebreaker, then beat Fnatic 3–1 and defending champion Invictus Gaming 3–1. G2 defeated DAMWON Gaming 3–1 in the quarterfinal and T1 3–1 in the semifinal. Both teams reached Paris through proactive map play, but their methods collided around mid lane.
