EDG edge DWG KIA 3–2 to win Worlds 2021

EDward Gaming beat DWG KIA 3–2 in the League of Legends World Championship final on November 6, 2021. The victory in Reykjavík delivered EDG’s first world title and ended DWG KIA’s attempt to repeat as champion.

Road to the final

EDG finished second in Group B before surviving two consecutive five-game knockout series against Royal Never Give Up and Gen.G. DWG KIA won its group and reached the final unbeaten in series, including a 3–2 semifinal over T1. The paths made the reigning champion the apparent favorite.
