T1 defeated Bilibili Gaming 3–2 at London’s O2 Arena on November 2, 2024. The defending champions trailed twice in the series before winning Games 4 and 5, extending the organization’s record to five world titles.

How the final unfolded

BLG controlled Game 1, T1 levelled the series in Game 2, and the Chinese champion moved to match point in Game 3. T1 answered with a forceful Game 4 and then won a tense deciding game. The comeback required them to change the pace of fights without abandoning the coordination that carried their knockout run.

The decisive factor

Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok was named Finals MVP. His impact was clearest in the last two games, where decisive initiations and survival under pressure gave T1 favorable fights. The veterans around him converted those openings, while the team’s younger players remained composed in their first world final against an LPL first seed.

What the result means

T1 became the first organization to win five League of Legends World Championships and successfully defended its 2023 crown. Faker collected his fifth title, eleven years after his first. BLG fell one series short of the LPL’s first world championship since 2021, but pushed the final to its full five-game limit.
